Fiyero Tigelaar is Elphaba’s love interest. He is an Arjiki prince from the Vinkus (or Winkie Country), who attends Shiz University.

He was engaged (rather reluctantly) to Glinda.

He started life first as a careless, happy-go-lucky, kid who cared little about school and was involved in a romantic relationship with Glinda Upland. However, when he met Elphaba, he began to understand that there is more to life than having fun and never thinking. With this discovery, he realized his true feelings for Elphaba, and saved her from the Wizard’s Gaurds. He was held hostage and tortured to death, because he refued to give Elphaba up. In an effort to save him, Fiyero was then transformed into the Scarecrow by Elphaba while she was trying to save his life. She continues to seek to remedy his current body, as she learns more from Grimm. He helped Elphaba stage her death and runs away with her out of Oz (the city) and Oz (the Shadow) to start a new life, and accompanies her to this day.
