A circular hoop (sometimes visible, sometimes not) that acts as a connection to the Fringe. Only the rare minority of people (shadow or Real) are “Fringeworthy” and can enter the Fringe unassisted. It is rumored that exposure to fringe crystals (which have various utilities on the fringe) can increase one’s fringeworthyness (if that’s even a word).

The closest Fringe Gate to Chaos was in the Abyss, where Osric found it Pit Diving. When the Abyss was closed in the Shadow Purge, that gate was presumed lost.
